Hummingwolf Today
Now Seeing: Too much condensation on my window. Beyond that are bare trees and a pale sky in shades of evening pink and blue. Mostly condensation, though.
Now Feeling: Tired. Headachy.
Now Tasting: Garlic from my lunch, even though I've brushed my teeth since then. Good thing there's nobody around to be offended by my breath.
Now Smelling: Spices from my green tea chai, which I really should drink. It might help relieve the headache.
Now Tasting: Spiced tea... and garlic.
Now Hearing: Computer fan and some unidentified mechanical noise off in the distance.
Last Meal Eaten: Chef Boy-ar-dee beef ravioli, kale, and some very garlicky garlic toast.
Last Book Finished: Jon Ronson, The Men Who Stare at Goats. I think this was a re-read, but I may only have read excerpts and picked up the other information from elsewhere.
Last DVD Watched: THX 1138, the George Lucas Director's Cut. Um. It certainly is a very 1970s dystopian sort of thing. And now I know where Trent Reznor got the sample he used in "Mr. Self Destruct," so I suppose that's something.
Now Wearing: Glasses that still need to be replaced; a green-blue sweater; my black flannel-lined jeans; light brown sports socks; a pair of old silver, white, and blue running shoes because I was going to go walking today; and boring underwear.
Miles Walked: Well, I started out walking to the grocery store to pick up a few things, but I didn't get very far before I realized that I really didn't wanna be outside if I had any choice in the matter. Since I did have a choice in the matter, I ended up walking some sad fraction of a mile.
Hours Slept Last Night: Whatever it was, it wasn't enough. It sounded like some smoke detector downstairs was trying to let us know that it needed a new battery, though I probably could have slept through the sad beeping if it weren't for the fact that I kept hearing other noises in the house, something that may have been animals fighting in the yard next door, and little noises that were pretty obviously coming from my half-asleep mind. Also I may have had a motor seizure, though it's possible I was dreaming.
Today's Accomplishments: I've taken out the trash and done two loads of laundry.
Now Seeing: Out beyond the condensation, a sky that's much darker than it was when I began typing this entry.

say, speaking of trent reznor, his extra features on disc 2 of The Social Network shocked me -- he's so stocky, and his hair's so short, and he's not a pretty boy any more! nothing stays the same. ;)

You mean to say that when he sang "Every day is exactly the same," he was lying? ::gasp::
Of course the phrase "nothing stays the same" has gotten Carly Simon's song "Comin' Around Again" in my head, but my treacherous brain is trying to imagine the song as performed by Nine Inch Nails. Actually, I'm starting to think NIN really should do a cover.
