This morning, on a whim, I went to look at the Icehouse website to see if there were any news. I found that the site has a new song available for download, with lyrics like

"my back to the wall
but I am not myself
I'm not responsible
shot up and shot down
I'm shot full of holes
I won't control myself
head full of chemicals"

From languagelog today I learned about the role of terminology in Japanese thinking about depression. Actually it's more about the role of terminology in marketing antidepressants, and quotes from this NYT Magazine article: "Did Antidepressants Depress Japan?"

These two things left me in a perfect altered state of mind for reading some of your journals today.
