Heat! Glorious Heat!

The furnace works again! We have heat! Not that it's particularly hot at this time of day when the thermostat's set for the mid-60s somewhere. Still, being able to leave the bedroom without putting on a winter coat is an underrated luxury.

You know you've been cold a while when central heating makes you giddy.


In other news, the sun is shining, chickadees are hopping, and squirrels are chasing each other all over the landscape. Looks like it could be a good day.

You don't know what a chickadee is? Wow. I guess I'm too provincial in a way; I hadn't realized that chickadees weren't well-known. Basically, they're these cute little birds, colored in black & white and some off-white. In Maryland (where I live) they're never seen in summer, only in wintertime; they mostly live farther north. They're one of those little birds I don't notice much when they're flying, but they can be seen hopping around on trees or on the ground, and they're curious enough that they might take food out of a person's hand.

A Google image search brings up a bunch of pictures of the little guys.

Well, rumor has it there have been naughty images and words imbedded in the animation by disgruntled animators. And, have you seen "The Hunchback of Notre Dame"? There's one musical animation sequence that's every bit as seductive and sexual as anything I've ever seen. Excellent movie, btw, should you ever have the opportunity to catch it.
