Spent some time today with the delightful
daisydumont. After having a discussion with guys from the electric company about the power line that's trying to set the trees on fire, we went to eat a good lunch at a local Indian restaurant, with their excellent butternut squash concoction earning rave reviews. Our meal was followed by a visit to a Starbucks close to home, where VickiDaisy had the first cup of coffee she's had in a while and I had my first cup of properly prepared chai. (Note to self: Chai is tasty, but you are still lactose intolerant.)
The conversation was, as ever with Ms. Vicki, great fun. We spent a lot of time talking about LiveJournal, of course. Now, now, don't look so alarmed: We are not malicious gossips. As a matter of fact, two main topics of discussion were (A) the psychology of fanfic writing, and (B) the hotties on our friends lists. ::grin:: Seriously, it was great to spend time with her and I hope we can get together again soon.
So far most of the rest of the day has seen me trying to wake up enough to do something useful. Since it looks like some trimmers have been hacking away at the woods by the power lines, here's hoping I won't be awakened again in the middle of the night by still-damp trees being briefly set ablaze, sputtering loudly and leaving the scent of smoke behind. Fireballs outside the bedroom window are not conducive to a good night's sleep.
