Hey, you.
That last post wasn't about you.
Maybe it was about Zephyr. Ask
hai_kah_uhk. :-)
Seriously, people need to stop thinking I'm talking about them when I'm not. If I mention you by name, you'll know I'm talking about you.
Of course, if you thought the last post was about you, then even if I'm not mentioning you by name, I'm talking about you. But this is a special case. Plus, I'm in a perverse mood right now.

You talking about M.E.?
Can we talk about ME? I wanna know if we are going to get a spinoff from Buffy for next year. And why can't we get more Giles?

Like I said, the previous post was ranting about someone not likely to be paying attention (they don't read my LJ, for one). No need for you to be paranoid--if I want to tell you something, I'll e-mail you, 'kay?

Re: You talking about M.E.?
I want a spinoff with lots & lots & lots of Giles! I don't care if ASH wants to do other things with his life--the world needs as much Giles as possible. It's the man's duty to play Giles!

"Why, are you guilty of something? No, I wasn't talking about you. I have no idea whether you're guilty of what I'm complaining about. If your conscience is somehow triggered by my complaint, it's something you'll have to deal with on your own. I have nothing to do with it."
Yeah, he was the best. :)
By the way, the episode is up. It's not about Zephyr engaging in unhealthy coping mechanisms, but he does get defensive in part of it. :)
I hope people like it. I just got my ego pummeled an hour ago and I could sure use something encouraging about now.
I'd make a comment about your insanity, but I'd probably just end up trivializing it. Especially since I'm getting poked by some insanity of my own at the moment. I just told a copy of Space and Time Magazine, "I think I'm being very stoic, at least as stoic as I can be."

Heh. I considered saying something like that but wasn't in the mood for dealing with bruised and defensive egos.
As for Zephyr's coping mechanisms--I don't know your character as well as you do, but it's a little hard for me to see him convincing himself that some new dependency has made him whole and healed of all his old psychological wounds (which is what the people I was thinking of are doing). He may be able to delude himself (who doesn't do that?), yet that doesn't seem like the kind of delusion he's most likely to fall prey to.

I'm sure other characters would be likelier candidates. Marsh comes to mind. He really believes in his "pillar of strength" persona, maybe to the point of being unable to accept that anything could possibly be wrong with him. I could see him throwing up a quick dependency patch on some inner weakness.
