I hate having nothing to offer except need and want and self-pity and useless dreams crushed underfoot. And, erm, melodrama. Stop me before I angst again.

Hey, all that silly optimism is being stripped away. It never felt comfortable on me anyway--it's the wrong size, the wrong color. Maybe now I'll find out what I look like underneath.

You are a hell of a lot more than self-pity, need, want etc... You have a brilliant brain, a sharp sense of humor, a fabulous wit, a kind and generous heart, you listen and hear others, and you are not self-absorbed although you probably feel like you are because you've been carrying all this weight and worry for so long. Talk about it here as much as you need, please, and know that we are listening and that we care.

Thank you. I think you need to bottle up some of the excess optimism and sell it on eBay--do you have any idea how much that stuff is worth??

Thank you. I'm not really worried about the people reading so much as I just don't want my journal to become one of the ones I'd hate to read, you know? Besides, while it does me good to vent, it doesn't do me any good to wallow.
