This post should be longer.
Still have the cold. Had an appointment Tuesday but realized when I got halfway to the Metro station that if I went anywhere that day, it'd be the emergency room. As I didn't want to go to the emergency room, I turned around and came back home.
Felt better yesterday, which was good because two of my oldest & dearest friends (and the littlest daughter of one of them) took me to lunch & then shoe shopping. Decided that the big priority now is something I can wear outdoors in so-called inclement weather, so got some lovely walking boots. Yes, these boots were made for walking, and that's just what they'll do...
Conversation good, topics ranging from the Mutant Enemy TV shows to the music of Nik Kershaw to, erm, things the little girl probably hasn't heard much about elsewhere (I'm just waiting to hear that she's told her older siblings "Mommy's getting a lap dance!"). Fun was had by all (except possibly the little girl, but she's such a trooper and several orders of magnitude more patient than I've ever been), though we were all very tired out at the end of the excursion.
Fun, I said, but probably more than I should have done with this cold. Last night when I got home there was much coughing, hacking, and wheezing, and very little sleeping. I'm hoping my friend who also felt a little sick is feeling better than I am. Today has not been fun. There's more to say, but I'm not up to saying it now. Will write more some other time--count on it.
