(no subject)

It's bad enough that this one unidentified melody took over my poor addled brain back in early December and has not yet relinquished its hold on me in spite of repeated attempts to drive it out with such songs as "Copacabana" and "It's a Small World" and it won't go away and it won't let me rest in peace and it forces me to hum it everywhere I go... That, as I said, is bad enough. But why oh WHY does the tune have to be in syncopated 7/4 time?!

Nope, no words. I've been trying to make a MIDI file of it so I can send it to some of my more musically expert friends, but my mouse is misbehaving and I'm having trouble with putting the odd rhythms into musical notation anyway.

You're welcome! That song was written by Ashford & Simpson (they had a big hit with "Solid" back in the mid-'80s) and has been recorded by a bunch of people, including a duet by Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell.
